Public Relations Account Executive


Brandner Communications is seeking a self-motivated, forward-thinking and high-judgement Public Relations Account Executive (PR AE) to join its team. This individual will work closely with the PR department to develop and implement strategic communications initiatives that shape our clients’ stories and build brand awareness through new and traditional media. These efforts include, but are not limited to, media outreach, content creation, tradeshow support, social media strategy and influencer relations.


The ideal candidate will bring creativity to writing, detail to communication efforts and big-picture thinking to engaging key audiences in the home building and design industry. The PR AE will have strong media relations experience and expertise in translating technical concepts into broadly digestible stories for trade and consumer media, from blog posts to technical bylined articles and time-sensitive social media posts. Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the PR team to create and implement communications strategies that help build brand awareness and drive sales for clients
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with press and other media influencers
  • Proactively pitches and secures media interviews, print placements and product donations to gain favorable exposure for clients
  • Responds to media inquiries, adapting to changing environments and audience perception as necessary
  • Translates technical concepts into broadly digestible stories for trade and consumer media, including news releases, case studies, bylined articles, blogs and other press materials
  • Identifies new and relevant social media influencers, while maintaining and improving agency’s existing relationships
  • Researches and integrates building and design industry news and trends into ongoing PR programs to establish clients as thought leaders
  • Monitors and manages media coverage reports for clients
  • Tracks and trends the effectiveness of PR activities, including tracking and reporting analytics and audience engagement across multiple platforms

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing or journalism
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of communications, public relations or public affairs experience; agency experience a plus
  • Clear and effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong sense of creativity and ability to develop fresh concepts for generating media coverage
  • Fluent in Social Media
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done
  • Strives for excellence in everything, from project conception to completion
  • Knowledge of the building products industry a plus
